Our Stay-cation!

Anyone who knows me know that I love, LOVE vacations. However, this summer we were unable to take one due to various reasons{the biggest being a lack of moo-la}. The good news is that our little staycation weekend was almost as good{i say almost because i still had to clean the house}and we were able to do it with little cash!

First stop...Cherokee, NC! We did a little "fishin'" and some swimmin'! And then ate at a yummy little pizza place called Garlic Knots in Maggie Valley.

Saturday we went to the pool for some fun and then to Shindig on the Green in downtown Asheville were we ate ice cream and listened to some great bluegrass music. Doesn't get much better!

Brunch at Tupelo Honey! Yummy Yum! If you ever get the chance to go, be sure to try the sweet potato pancakes. They're delish!

And last but not least...The Wavebreaker! My sister bought this thing on the super duper sale last summer and let's just say it's been well worth the money! F-U-N!!

We had a great weekend staycationing around home sweet home! We made lots of memories and I wouldn't change a thing!

What about you...vacation or staycation?

Just Peachy

Who can resist a juicy, ripe peach?? My belly has been full of delicious peaches for days after a stop by the local farmers market {by my father-in-law who is always bringing us treats}.

via

I've been peeling and snacking like crazy buy I still have lots of them left over and I wanted to use them before they get all squishy!

via

This is a first for me...today I'm gonna share a super easy, calorie free{wink}Peach Cobbler recipe.

Here's a few simple ingredients:
*peaches
*1 cup of milk
*1 cup of flour
*1 cup of sugar
*1/2 cup of butter

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the butter in an 8x8 glass baking dish and melt in the oven.

Meanwhile, peel and pit your peaches. Tip: After you peel them, push your thumb in the top where the stem would be and split them with your hands. This makes getting the pit out a lot easier!

Mix the flour and sugar together and then add the milk and stir.

Slice the peaches and place them in the bottom of the buttered dish.

Pour flour, sugar, and milk mixture over the top of the peaches and bake for about 50 minutes!

Enjoy!
