Tastee Treats {Halloween Style}

If you're anything like me... you'll wait until the very last minute to buy candy for your trick-or-treaters. Poor things will have to take the nasty candy that you frantically searched for thirty minutes before dark and finally found at a gas station.  You know what I'm talking about...those gross chewy things wrapped in orange and black paper!

"Pumpin" Carving

This year we grew our own pumpkin patch! It was ridiculously simple and so rewarding.

They grew, and grew, and GREW!!

 And they turned out just perfect!

Sewing Club and a Winner

As most of you know...I'm a teacher by day, seamstress by night! However, every other Wednesday I combine the two when I host a little after school sewing club. 11 girls, 1boy! I started this last year, and it was a big hit so I decided to do it again mostly because they think I'm some sort of a sewing goddess{glad someone does}and they get a huge kick out of making something on their own. 

We mostly hand sew. However, for their final project they get to use Bernie.{my machine}

This week, we made felt tissue holders. They were sooo proud!{and I was too}

Speaking of Chilly Weather...

Brrr...there's a definite nip in the air. Fall has arrived and I for one am excited. There are lots of things I love about fall...but mostly, I love fall fashion!

The Carrier Cushions are super practical and adorable. I came up with the idea after I got fed up with my arm being pinched a bazillion times. As an added bonus, it keeps crazy people from insisting my child is a boy because her car seat is 'boy' colored! {crazies...they're everywhere}

A Simple Idea {Fall Garland}

Ella Cate and I made this simple little project with some "bootiful" leaves{her words}!

Take a little nature walk to collect some leaves and simply string them using a needle and thread.

I used the one we made to dress up our mantle! {Keep in mind, a photographer I am not.}

Best Weekend!

What a great weekend! The weather was absolutely gorgeous. See...

Saturday morning, we had a late breakfast at Tupelo Honey{i'm here to tell you that the sweet potato pancakes are to. die. for.} and then we found ourselves up on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Every time I go up there, I just can't stopping thinking about how amazing God is and how blessed I am to live in such a beautiful place.

We made a few stops and made some sweet memories.

I have the cutest little family if I do say so myself.

When my kids grow up, I want them to have lots of memories that give them a warm, fuzzy feeling inside just like the feeling I get when I think of fall as a little girl!
